Corfu to Zakinthos, Ionian Islands: 7 Days
Day 1: Corfu
Visit Corfu. The land of hazy olive groves, steep mountains, beaches, culture and dramatic landscapes. Stroll Corfu's pastel-colored Venetian old town, shop for treasures in its narrow lanes and see the ancient Greek sculptures in the Archaeological Museum. The Ionian Islands offer a variety of local cuisine and wines including: bourdetto, a spicy fish dish; sofrito, a spicy veal dish; and Robola, Liapaditiko and Theotaki wines.
Day 2: Paxos
Dramatic Paxos has much to see including sea caves, limestone cliffs and the spectacular Tripitos Arch.You'll anchor the night at a secluded cove.
Day 3: Anti Paxos
On our yacht charter in the Ionian Islands, we will take out the water toys, swim in the crystalline waters of Emerald Cove, then cruise to the peaceful bay at Mongonisi, before cruising on to Levkas.
Day 4: Meganissi and Levkas
Cruise to Levkas, set in a sheltered location with views across to Skorpios-formerly owned by Aristotle Onassis. Enjoy watersports in the turquoise coves of Meganissibefore cruising on to Ithaca.
Day 5: Ithaca
Friendly and unspoiled Ithaca has dramatic views, great beaches, hiking, festivals, delicious traditional food and authentic tavernas. Other attractions include Odysseus' palace, the cave of the Nymphs and the fountain of Arethusa.
Day 6: Kefalonia
Cruise to relaxing yet cosmopolitan Kefalonia, home to historical buildings, archaeological sites and many fine beaches. The 2001 movie "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" was filmed here. After, cruise leisurely on to Myrtos with its picturesque cliffs.
Day 7: Zakynthos
Lush, flower-filled Zakynthos, is known as "Il fiore del Levante" translating to "The Flower of the Levant." Dramatically steep white cliffs plunge toward turquoise seas and don't leave without enjoying the therapeutic sulphur springs.
