Day 1: Nosy Be
Madagascar is an African isle that deserves an itinerary all of its own, with luscious jungle, exotic wildlife and endless stretches of sandy beach. Join your yacht and start your journey from Madagascar's biggest island, Nosy Be, boasting some of Africa's most stunning beaches. Spend a day relaxing on the soft sands or hiking through the forest searching for chameleons and lemurs. Spend the night on this special isle before beginning the journey north on your South Madagascar yacht charter to the Mitsio archipelago.
Day 2: Nosy Be - Nosy Ankarea - Grande Mitsio
Depart Nosy Be in the morning for the archipelago's only inhabited island, Grande Mitsio. Enjoy a short stop over along the way at the Nosy Ankarea a beautiful sheltered bay perfect for snorkeling and diving. Arrive at Grande Mitsio in the afternoon where the hospitality of the Malagasy people is as welcoming as the colorful landscape.
Day 3: Grande Mitsio - Tsarabanjina - Nosy Komba
On the way to the tropical island of Tsarabanjina you will pass the sublime islets known as "the four brothers" or Efatra Zoky. These underwater landscapes attract scuba divers from around the world. A short cruise from here takes you to the lemur refuge of Nosy Komba where the tiny animals can be hand-fed. A delight for all and a great photo opp! Enjoy another dining delight as you wind down another unique day in this special destination.
Day 4: Nosy Komba - Nosy Tanikely - Russians Bay
The route to Russians Bay passes Nosy Tanikely where the multicolored marine life is visible directly from deck. Russians Bay, named for the Russian soldiers dispatched to the island during the Russo Japanese War, offers incredible opportunities to catch a glimpse of dolphins and makes for a perfect overnight anchorage.
Day 5: Russians Bay - Nosy Iranja - Nosy Be
Otherwise known as "Turtles Island" Nosy Iranja is a haven for these creatures where the white sandy beaches are a preferred egg-laying destination. After enjoying the breathtaking vistas, head to Baramahamay Bay for a still anchorage or continue straight on to Nosy Be for a relaxing end to cruising the Mitsio Archipelago. Nosy Be is an easy destination to travel in and out of.
