Nice to Antibes, France
Board your yacht in Nice, then head for the tax-free and independent Monaco and join the other Monte Carlo yachts in Port Hercules. Tour the capital, Monte Carlo, and see the famed botanical gardens, luxury boutiques grand casino and chandeliered palace hotels. Like a stone sentinel, the ruling Grimadi clan's Palais Princier, on "the Rock," watches over the principality. Take a stroll through the streets that form part of the famous Gran Prix circuit and visit luxury boutiques. However, beyond the glitz, Monaco is a stunningly beautiful town/country with an impressive mountainous backdrop and architecture. Enjoy an evening in Monaco's sparkling harbor after a few drinks and cocktails at the fine local bars.
Cruising west at sunrise, anchor your yacht charter on the French Riviera, in the village of Cap Ferrat - a nine-mile stretch sprinkled with lush billionaires' villas and sheltered bays, beaches and coves. Tour the immaculate gardens of the legendary Villa Ephrussi de Rothshchild, the Gran Hotel du Cap Ferrat, use the yacht's water toys or relax and enjoy the dazzling view.
Cap Ferrat features a picturesque port and has a delightful stone path that allows you to hike the entire peninsula by the sea. There's a small beach near the port, but the terrain is famously jagged, making for excellent picture-taking opportunities. Visit the nearby town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, a pretty seaside resort and port right in the heart of the French Riviera. It borders the communes of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Èze, and Villefranche-sur-Mer. A wonderful suggestion for a dinner reservation is Chevre d'Or in Eze.
Day 3 & 4:
Compared to the Monte Carlo yachts of Monaco, Saint Tropez is a historical town on the French Riviera with an abundance of sailing yachts. Cruise around the headland to enjoy temperate and timeless Îles d'Hyères with its cobbled streets and 19th-century villas. For a little exercise, hike uphill to the gardens of Parc Saint-Bernard, with its staggering views of the coast and the striking Cubist Villa Noailles. Explore the coastal caves, swim, snorkel and enjoy the yacht's water sports, anchoring overnight in peaceful Isle de Porquerolles.
During breakfast, your superyacht will head west for two hours along the coast to Cannes. Take a trip ashore to experience the panache and glitz that the movie industry seeks during the film festival, plus a whole lot more. Stroll along the beautiful curving Croisette boardwalk, spanning the entire bay and connecting the two ports old and new. Visit the historical old town, walk along the sandy beach or visit the famous hotels and designer shops that Cannes is known for. The bay itself is gorgeous, surrounded by hills and rock formations that reach all the way to the French Alps, visible on clear days, ideal for your French Riviera yacht charter.
Days 6 & 7: Iles de Lerins to Antibes, Departure to Nice
Your yacht will cruise leisurely on to Iles de Lerins for swimming and other water sports. South of Antibes, the terrain winds itself into a peninsula with luxurious and glamorous Cap d'Antibes at the tip. This area has become known as the epitome of extravagance on the Riviera, home to the rich and famous. Enjoy lunch at the famous and exclusive Eden Roc, often described as one of the world's most fabulous hotels. Ile Sainte-Marguerite is the larger island and is covered by a pine and eucalyptus forest. History buffs can visit the cell where the "man in the iron mask" was imprisoned. Ile Saint-Honorat, just south, has a Cistercian abbey that still produces local wine. Anchor overnight near the Iles de Lérins. From Antibes, is an easy ride to the Nice aiport.
