Today marks the opening of METS, the world’s largest marine equipment trade show being held at the RAI in the heart of the famous city of Amsterdam. In excess of 1,300 exhibitors from more than 39 countries will showcase the very latest in materials and systems for the international marine leisure business when the exhibition opens to industry leaders this morning.

Over the next three days, boat and yacht builders, naval architects, yacht designers, yacht brokers and almost every other sector of the marine leisure industry will be represented at what organisers hope will be the biggest METS yet.

And while Denison Superyacht Division is not able to be physically present at the show, the team has already been keeping tabs on news coming out of Amsterdam via a brand new live feed from The International Sailing Summit (ISS) which took place yesterday.

The international conference, hosted by British Sailing, was held ahead of the opening of METS and focused on how ‘sailing needs to modernise, diversify and develop’ in order to attract and retain participants.

Filmed by SailRacer in conjunction with sports media specialist SportsXstream, the thought-provoking series of seminars introduced by UK double Olympic Gold Medallist Iain Percy can be viewed by Denison Superyacht Division clients.

Also speaking in Amsterdam in an inaugural keynote presentation is Carla Demaria, president of Monte Carlo Yachts, a stylish Italian yacht building business which designed Never Say Never, a 26 metre motor yacht currently for sale with Denison Superyacht Division.

Ms Demaria, who is also a board member of the Italian Yachting Federation as well as being general manager of the Beneteau Brand, said she felt it was important to “share experiences and perspectives on the market from one’s own unique perspective.”

She added: “Moreover, METS has a special position among the exhibitions in the marine industry. It offers the most extensive showcase of equipment and yacht accessories and - as the extremely challenging market drives research and innovation - the number of new applications shown continues to grow. This makes METS an event one cannot afford to miss.”

METS 2014 will be held from November 18th- 20th in the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre. For more details contact or +1 954.763.3971
